Much like never finding your uncommon name on a personalized souvenir, growing up with pet guinea pigs made us aware of their gross omission from pop culture. “Always a hamster, never a guinea pig” as the saying goes. Katherine Heigl even starred in a movie about this phenomenon.
A collaboration with Grey Stone, we decided to create this 16-page, full-color zine of guinea pig-themed art as a way to honor these cute and affectionate rodents. The cover design is adopted from an old guinea pig care guidebook unearthed from out grandparents’ basement, reusing the title because it is delightfully odd.
